If you choose to fly, you can choose JFK (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), or even Newark (EWR) but Islip-Long Island (ISP) is the closest to the track. Once on the ground in New York, you're going to need to check the driving directions.
Driving Directions Port Jefferson Raceway is about an hour (traffic permitting) from the City of New York and downtown Manhattan. No matter which way you choose to arrive in New York, if you want to get to the track, you're going to end up in a car. From JFK Airport: Take the Belt Pkwy East to the Southern State Pkwy. Take Southern State Pkwy East to the Sagitikos Pkwy North. Take the Sagitikos Pkwy North to the Long Island Expressway/I-495 [LIE] East and follow directions from the West to complete your journey. From the West: Take the LIE/I-495 East to exit 62, Nichols Road. Stay on Nichols heading North for approximately ½ mile. Then take the Portion Road exit (heading west on Portion). The store is on your right hand side in the Tiffany Plaza about a ½ mile down Portion Road. From the Port Jefferson Ferry: When you exit the Ferry, you will be on a one way road, heading west on 25a (E Broadway). In about 500 feet, at the first traffic light, take a left onto Barnum Ave, take Barnum Ave to its end on Main Street. Make a right onto Main Street and you will now be on Route 112. Follow Rte 112 south approximately 4 miles. Then make a right onto North Ocean Ave (CR-83). Go 5 traffic lights and make a right onto Horseblock Road (7Eleven is on the corner). Follow Horseblock Road until it becomes Portion Road. You will pass under a overpass which is Nichols Road. About ½ mile after the overpass is the Tiffany Plaza on your right hand side.
